Author Talks: How to eradicate roadblocks to equity

Dr. Tina Opie and coauthor Dr. Beth Livingston for all their discussion refuses to address the elephant in their life: Affirmative Action has been on the books since 1961 and has given preference to all minorities in education and employment. It’s worked very well since I see the title Dr. in front of this names. Working my entire life under the umbrella of Affirmative Action I have seen people advanced in both education and employment based solely on the color of their skin. In my opinion it hasn’t helped solve perceived inequities in our society, and have firmly established a sense of entitlement in minorities that serves to divide rather than unite our society. The proof is that people advocating selecting people for education and/or employment based on their color look to put Asians at a disadvantage because of how they typically excel. We can only provide equal opportunity, people themselves by their work ethic and desire will decide their outcome. The only solution is the color-blind condition that 95% of our society has achieved.

What Dr. Tina Opie and Dr. Beth Livingston needs to come to grips with is that racism can never be solved by racism, it never has and never will.
