I served in Korea several years ago and three officers shared a hooch. We had an aviator, formerly assigned to the "Night Stalkers", a medical surgeon, and me, the intell guy. The surgeon had some interesting friends from the medical community in Seoul, and they had some incredible stories. But none of their tales came close to this astonishing episode in which surgeons removed a live 40mm grenade from a wounded patient. Unbelievable!

That was a nice safety feature on the round, it was 15 or 20 Rotations if I remember, but there would be no guarantees the Surgeon could see. I served with Sp/4 Rascon (He was a Major last I saw him) and Sp/5 Joel, they never hesitated when the call went out for Medic and both got wounded but always continued taking care of our guys
