Would you like some good news? Unemployment for post-9/11 vets stays near historic low.
Back on Mar 7, 2015 GySgt Wayne A. Ekblad reported that the "Jobless Rate for Post 9/11 Veterans Hits Record Low".
Now it's July and we get an update...
"June marks only the third month in history with an unemployment rate for the latest generation of vets below 5.5 percent. May 2015, also with a 5.4 percent rate, was the second, and May 2014, with a record 5.3 percent rate, was the first.
The veteran-specific data is based on surveys with a very small sample size, and as a result, it's prone to dramatic fluctuations. Still, halfway through the 2015 monthly jobs reports, the trend seems to be historically positive."

LTC John Shaw, sir, that was my understanding as well. I thought that the Vet unemployment of less than half of that was good news - if it reflects reality.

"While the overall unemployment rate for veterans remained at 4.5% in November and the national unemployment rate fell to 5.8%, the job market continues to remain soft. While the unemployment rates politically look good, there is definitely a gap between those with jobs and the millions who have dropped out of the job market due to the lack of jobs. If one were to include the drop outs and use the U6 unemployment rate, national unemployment for November would be 11.4%. And yes, there are those who would say the real number is closer to 20%. "
