When Middleton and his command were transferred to Patton's newly-activated 3rd Army, Middleton underwent "shock therapy". George Patton wanted none of the cautious and risk-averse plans that Middleton had grown used to preparing for Omar Bradley. He ordered his subordinates not to ever worry about protecting their flanks, that was something for the Germans to worry about. Patton wanted daring advance above all. Interesting study in command.

This was another great post, Dale The text was great and the actual photographs were fantastic. I wonder how many of the young people today even realize how much our fathers and grandfathers did to save this country from facism. I don't want to not mention the women who also worked for the war effort, Everyone did their part to save this nation. Now this country is all fucked up with the extreme left wanting to change things to benefit their will. I bet that their ancestors who fought and died in WW2 are spinning in their graves over what's going on now.
