For several years there has been an annual reenactment of the Battle of Plattsburg -- but apparently it is collapsing this year because the new firearms laws in New York include muzzle loaders and do not provide any sort of exemption for historic reenactments.
The governor claims that 'of course the law permits reenactments' but neither her office nor anyone else has been able to find anything in the hastily written law to say that.
