A great writer. His book Roots captured America's imagination and the TV movie was a great mini-series.

Roots was a great epic in both written form and on the big screen. Alex was a well-respected and deserved every bit of stardom. Roots changed minds about segregation and racism in the U.S., especially in the southern states.
