Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the last of the backlog edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Pleiades over Half Dome." (From Wikipedia) Half Dome is a granite dome at the eastern end of Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park, California. One side is a sheer face while the other three sides are smooth and round, making it appear like a dome cut in half. The granite crest rises more than 4,737 ft (1,444 m) above the valley floor.
Now lets talk stars. The Pleiades are found in the constellation Taurus. And if you're thinking that "wait a minute...Taurus isn't in the night sky in July"...you'd be right. This composite image was taken in October 2019 and coincided with an electric blackout in the area. Meaning that the sky was nice and dark. Marvelous picture.
