The observation on signatures is a good one; my signature today has little resemblance to my signature 40 years ago.

Then what is the point of even having the signature?

How *do* we verify that the person submitting the ballot is *actually* the person registered to vote?

CW4 Guy Butler I think a Notary is. But if one is willing to forge a ballot, also forging two witnesses (by themself) is not at all a deterrent.

I also want to be clear that I do not think this sort of thing is common or happens in HUGE numbers. But, IMHO, 1 is one too many.
