I can smell the push for an Earnest Will type ship escort of ships carrying food through the Black Sea coming.

Who is going to put ships in there until the Ukraine allows someone to clear the mines? Turkey offered, but has been turned down.

CPT Lawrence Cable Not a big challenge, we had someone clearing for mines before every single ship escort during EW.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Yes, I know the technology isn't exactly rocket science, but this time around the mines belong to the side that is supposed to be friendly. Plus I am not sure that using US Warships as escorts, which requires re-flagging the ships if I remember correctly, wouldn't be considered an escalation on our part.
I will admit to being overly cynical when it comes to Eastern Europe and Central Asia, but I think we need to consider that the holdup on grain shipments may rest with the Ukraine, hoping to get NATO/UN/whomever to intervene.

CPT Lawrence Cable Russia has a blockade in place so not sure getting ships through that has much to do with Ukrainian desires.
