APOD: 2022 June 22 - Supernova Remnant: The Veil Nebula

Good afternoon, Rallypoint, and welcome to the June 22nd edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Supernova Remnant: The Veil Nebula." The constellation Cygnus (The Swan) is a sight to behold in its own right, but things begin to change when you introduce narrowband filters and start taking pictures. Narrowband filters isolate and capture specific wavelengths of light. The filters allow deep-sky astrophotography enthusiasts to produce surprisingly dynamic images of objects that are far away.
Which brings us to today's APOD. Stars were processed out of this view to highlight the detailed filaments of the Veil. We see the presence of sulfur (red), hydrogen (green), and oxygen (blue). Mouse over the APOD image itself to see the highlighted features. The Veil Nebula lies about 1,400 light years from Earth.

Any idea what the source of the O2 may be? Is there some type of plant life in this Nebula ?

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price Thank you Sir. What a phenomenal read and appreciation for other apparent causes of oxygen creation. I hope everyone out there who questions the existence of God reads this and then attempts to put together a hypothesis on how this, just by happenstance, created itself. Thank you again and what you bring to the table Sir is so remarkable to say the least.
