"The court said that the First Amendment provision guaranteeing the free exercise of religion requires neutrality toward religion, and Maine's system of paying only for tuition at non-religious schools demonstrates not neutrality, but hostility to religion."
Awesome...If you don't pay for the religous schools it is flat discrimination. AND Actually the words seperation of church and state are not in the constitution. it actually reads "Congress should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." By denying it you are prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Jefferson was describing to the Danbury Baptists in 1802 that the United States Bill of Rights prevents the establishment of a national church, and in so doing they did not have to fear government interference in their right to expressions of religious conscience. This is education. If you pay for one you pay for all. If you don't want your kids to go to a religous school then use your tuition elsewhere...simple. This is not establishing a national church and in no way violates the Constitution. Good call by the justices.

Not necessarily, Alberta joined the Confederation in 1905 Canada. Catholic schools are covered. It's the only province in Canada that Catholic schools are little to no cost to albertans. You don't have to go to them. Nobody's forcing you to also, in Canada we are also allowed to have buses that say Merry Christmas without a bunch of angry greedy atheist lawyers chasing the bus so they could buy a second Ferrari. The Constitution is a little different but the point is it didn't turn Taliban. We don't do any decapitations in Alberta.
