Many gun owners support gun control. So why don't they speak out?

Don't know who they polled but the folks I shoot with would call BS on this poll.

Yes, many of us gun owners support change. The extreme gun nuts are holding us back.

There is a specific lobby that provides lots and lots of money to politicians (both Dems and GOP) that are against any form of reasonable restrictions. As a hunter, gun owner I have no issues with background checks, raising the age limit and restricting magazine size. I was at a range last week with 2 vet friends when we overheard a guy with an AR and large mag talking about it's need for hunting. The three of us burst out laughing, if you need that many shots you should not have that weapon in your hands. By the way, all 3 of us have spoken out on this and at a VFW discussion, the majority of us supported a range of limited restrictions.

Federally licensed gun sellers are required to run background checks. But not all sellers are required to be licensed. Some of those unlicensed sellers sell at gun shows.
It’s not clear how many sellers are licensed and how many are not. Some studies are out of date.
Perhaps the better name is private seller loophole.
