A nonprofit aiming to defund disinformation online that has taken money out of the pockets of several prominent far-right websites now has its sights set on its most formidable target yet: Fox News.
The group, Check My Ads, is hoping the success it has had in stripping advertising dollars from right-wing provocateurs including Steve Bannon, Glenn Beck and Dan Bongino will give it momentum as it attempts to confront a powerful media empire.
On Thursday, the outfit announced a new campaign directed at Fox's website and its popular YouTube channel calling on the public to pressure online ad exchanges to stop doing business with Fox. It comes just as the House committee investigating the Capitol riots kicks off a series of hearings focused on violence that unfolded on Jan. 6.
Former marketer Claire Atkin, who co-founded Check My Ads, argues that Fox "encouraged and supported" the attack on the Capitol.
"Advertisers have said over and over again, 'We don't want to fund violence,' so it's shocking that Fox News is still receiving these ad dollars," she said.

We have dedicated people who advertised on Fox News. Even if it's annoying because it's the same one but advertisers know that they are the top 10. People try to digest from Israel but I have $40,000 and Logistics shipping Zulu Mike India ticker symbol. I'm not going to let the boycott divestment and sanctions movement win. It looks like Elon Musk is gaining ground against Twitter so if there is this information, call it out but don't try to censor it because that shows Communists or fascists thinking. I don't mind someone calling out something that's not true, I'm trying to purposely kill Fox News won't work just like President Biden trying to destroy the fossil fuel industry. I forgot the box box when I heard what are you doing and my socks were up 35 to 70%. People could vote with their feet so when you have special interest group trying to sabotage. Look at the example of attorney touch been working with Hillary Clinton to tell the FBI that what day was had was true when it was closed in a way to sabotage the campaign of President trump. It didn't work and now the truth is out now. Unfortunately, the Hillary Clinton the treatment of getting away with classified information is also affecting her former attorney working the DMV. He was found not guilty. So trying to stifle freedom of speech and freedom of expression it's not going to work unless you have a dictatorship.
