The high-tech range finder, called a JIM LR — and likely part of the tranche of equipment supplied by the United States, said Sergeant Pysanka — seemed like a perfect choice. It can see targets at night and transmit their distance, compass heading and GPS coordinates. Some soldiers learned enough to operate it, but then rotated elsewhere, leaving the unit with an expensive paper weight.

Read somewhere an NCO from Washington NG who was detailed over there for training
on the Javlin before all this started is on their call list.
Was one of the things I wondered about, getting the hi tec weapons which take lots of training. Sending them out to Poland or other country is a good choice, or Mercs going in and doing it. We have yet to hear of civilian contractors doing it. Wouldn't surprise me a bit, but something which would be kept under raps (if they can)
