During this week in 1971, Memorial Day is observed on a new date. If you don’t know much about the history of this weekend’s holiday, then you are not alone. :) To some degree, its origins remain shrouded in mystery.

Tara is a very good writer and excellent US historian. I highly recommend following her at the link above, her website, or on Face Book where she also does a regular series on the Federalist and Anti Federalist Papers. I also highly recommend her books.
