Desertions in the U.S. Navy skyrocket

WOW! I had no idea about this RCOH in the Navy and that the sailors assigned had to live on board for the duration of the RCOH... That's enough to create mental health issues for sure and that includes desertions and perhaps worse!!! Thank you for sharing this information, PO1 William "Chip" Nagel!

Most of the guys in the Corps that went AWOL just wanted out of their contract which is what I suspect if the main reason for all the desertion going on in the Navy. I have read about all the suicides and that is sad. I hope they find out what the reason is for this. There has to be a common link somewhere PO1 William "Chip" Nagel .

Thank God I never had to endure an RCOH, with friends that did they agree it isd a horrible experience and the way it has gone down with the Washington, it appears even worse. Hard to believe the Navy can't do better.
