If You've Read Many Of My Posts,
You'd Notice I'm Always Ragging On Our Lack Of Education
In This Country.
Here's An Example Of WHY I'm Constantly On Our Case.....

We will have a flat spot in education for K-12 and college affected by the Teacher's Unions and the online learning. It is not the same. Even in Canada, kids at school still wear masks even though those under 10 are almost immune to covid. K-12 all wear masks.

COL.? Are These The Fault Of The Teachers's Union?
I Was Employed By Our Schools For Just Over 13 Years.
We DO Have "Flat Spots", No Doubt...
In The Lunch Rooms, Each Kid Sets Their Milk On It;
It's On The Top Of Their Heads.

If You Happen To Know Anyone With ONLY a High School Diploma,
(Perhaps Even College Grads With Their Masters)
Ask Them Just These FIVE Questions: ...... Or Even Chose Just ONE Of Them.
#1... "In School, At ANY Point, Were You Taught To Balance A Check Book".?
#2... "Upon Receipt Of Your High School Diploma, Which Occupation Were You Actually QUALIFIED To Preform"?
#3,.."Upon Completion Of The SIXTH Grade; The Following 6 Years To Graduation,
What USEFUL Information Were You Taught During Those 6 Years"?
#4.. "If You Took Classes In Higher Math, Such As Algebra,
Trigonometry, Calculus Or Geometry, Which Have You Used"?
#5 ."Do You Recall Any Of The Formulas"?

I Could Go On Endlessly; As Could Most Anyone Reading This.
Most Of Us Have "Been There, Done That".....
Unsuccessfully..

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney it looks like the teachers unions are pushing this in some jurisdictions and government mandates on the other. It could even be both. The mask mandate it's different from Province to Province or state to state.
I did hear a report yesterday at the LA County School District in California has a drop of 50,000 students which they believe is reflecting parents putting their kids in Catholic schools or private schools which teach better generally and they generally don't have the mask mandate. Here in Canada, Alberta is the only province that allows Catholic schools to be with the public schools. This was a concession by the Canadian government to admit Alberta into the Canadian Federation in 1905. I see the Catholic schools wearing masks here so it's done by the local school superintendent and probably by provincial decree.
I am not sure in the case of California.

I was one of those kids that really had a hard time in Community College because I only barely passed beginning algebra and 10th grade. I wasn't required to have the same math skills and I had a hell of a time and Community College because I had to drop my class beginning and intermediate algebra class and take it a second time. I had to use the math lab to help me pass calculus 130a basic business calculus. Once I pass dismiss calculus, I was able to take upper-division classes in my international business marketing with emphasis in Spanish at Cal State Fullerton. I was only a 2.65 GPA student. I did have three semesters of 3.0 GPA but maybe I wasn't that focussed. I did learn how to balance a checkbook in my first semester of college because I took accounting basic accounting so you had to balance The Ledger. I really wasn't prepared when I graduated from high school. Luckily, Li High School still had driver's ed so I was able to drive and I had a 1962 Falcon Station Wagon so I could drive to work and back. It looks like many kids today do not have a car and they take the bus here in Edmonton Alberta Canada. We do have Light Rail and a good bus system. Because of the cold weather, going to school at 20 below zero is hey go. Only when it gets to be like -40 will they stop School. I'm referring to before the covid-19 school distance learning.

I think my claim to success was being a history buff. I remember as a kid reading books on everything military, ships, tanks, artillery, World War II, Korean War and liking mechanical things. I didn't join the National Guard and go through basic training until I was 31 years old. I went in as an E4 specialist. I had no problem on the ASVAB and I had no problem scoring well on my OCS aptitude test. At Cal State Fullerton, I did learn 300 level economics, 300 level finance and b m business management in addition to learning history of Spain and history of Latin America all taught in Spanish with instructors, doctors, in Spanish, from Mexico City, Barcelona and Madrid. I still kick myself because my parents would have allowed me to go to Barcelona Spain for summer school but I was too concerned about losing my job at my department store. I should have gone to Spain even if I was taught Spanish Castilian in the university and people spoke Castle on outside in Barcelona.

I am a late bloomer and I think joining the National Guard and later the Army Reserve and with all the required schooling required to get to the next higher rank really help me. Taking the military police officer basic course, Reserve component tank commanders transition course, the armour officer Captain's career course, the Civil Affairs branch course at Fort Bragg and then later taking my command and general staff officer course at Fort Dix New Jersey and then the satellite course at my Army reserve unit in Garden Grove really allowed me to shine and continue to learn even into my 50s.

I'm sure you have seen guys who didn't do very well in high school. I was so-so in my highest GPA was 3.27. I did run cross-country and track and my best mile time was just under 5 minutes which was so so but my 3 Mile run time was about 16 and a half minutes. This help me in o c s when I could run a 12-minute 2-mile. Even my last physical fitness test at age 57 I was able to get 299 out of 300 and I missed a perfect score on the 2-mile Run by 6 seconds.

I'm just trying to show you that I was one of those that was patient and persistent and joining the National Guard and later the Army Reserve and going up the ranks went from a hobby to a career not to mention three deployments and three overseas stripes. I was not an Audie Murphy but I did serve my country.

I'll Have To Respond One Thing At A Time:
#1.. Until CORONA Virus Is Unheard Of, I'll Wear My Mask Every Time I Exit My Home;, ...No Matter The Opinions Of Others, Even The CDC,.
#2... As For Education & The Wearing Of Masks In Our Schools,
UH... I'm All For The Wearing Of Masks.. As For Our Quality Of Education?...
"Not So Much".
#3.....Upon Have Already Been In Business, About 10 + Years I Then I Pissed Away The Balance Of My GI Bill At Lansing Community College. The Teachers Didn't Even Need To BE Teachers, So Long As They Had SOME Experience In The Field Being Taught, THAT Really Sucked.. I Was Actually Given, By The Instructors Request, Control Of A "Small Business Management" Class For 2 Weeks Because I'd Noticed The Text Was Printed 15 Years Previously And As Such, Already Out-Dated; So He Figured That My Experience Superseded The Text.
We All Had Fun Together & We All Learned Much More.....Including MYSELF..
#4...I Didn't Do Well In High School Either. I Left Mid 9th Grade & Am Self Educated.
Best Damned Decision Of My Life.
#5...Holy Crap, COL... Your Track Running Was So Great, You Could Have Robbed Banks And RUN From The Scene...LOL...
Seriously, Your Running Track Records Were Fantastic; Especially In Your Later Years When You Did So Well... CONGRATS!!.
#6...You Had A GPA Of 2.65 & Boosted It To A 3.0?. ...That, Sir, Takes Effort.
My Only 4.0 Was On A Breathalyzer Test..
I Did However,Believe It Or Not, Maintain A 3.2 On The 30 Programs I Completed Through USAFI & NAVEPERS.+ 1 Through UCB & 1 Through Univ. Of Arkansas,.
I Spent My Entire 4 Year Career Taking Programs, Mostly Business Related.
Completed The Last One About 4 Months Before My 4 Year Enlistment Expired In 06/10/1965.....
...#7....Exactly, With Dedication And Persistence.
Much CAN Be Achieved.
THE END...

In those days, the 1st was so ingrained, and the Constitution so revered, that even the American Nazi party could march in Skokie. Ideas need purifying sunlight.

Now the Leftists are like the Nazis going to the Supreme Court Justice's homes. Of course, the white house does nothing and the Attorney General won't arrest a group his son is with either. Animal Farm Mentality. Hate Speech is anything they do not agree with.

That is because your "dissertation" was nonsense, insulting, and full of disinformation.

Have a very nice day.

Sarge, Due To Clearly Stating A Matter,
Sometimes It Takes A "Dissertation" So As
To Give The Proper Information About The Subject Matter.
Failure To Do So, Makes One Appear To Be A Trump Supporter.
Perhaps That's Why It Confuses You.

My wife experienced extreme racism last time she went to vote. It's not the first time for her. I'm sure you've heard this before but I'm going to post it again.

In the last general election in Canada, people at the polling Precinct didn't think that a native Canadian lives in such a nice neighbourhood. They were racist towards her. Here in Canada, it's not racist to ask for ID Capt Gregory Prickett MSgt Steve Sweeney CWO4 Terrence Clark MSG Stan Hutchison
I'm not talking about an Indian Reservation with no postal address. I'm talking about a city of 1 million people that has a ring Road freeway and light rapid transit. My indigenous Canadian wife went to the local Precinct to vote against Trudeau even though she's a liberal. The first of the polling station was hostile to her. When they ask for ID, she showed her class 1, Class C truck drivers license showing her address in North Edmonton. The person at the polling station wasn't convinced and asked for a second form of ID. They assume that Indians were drunk and destitute and you think that her professional truck drivers license would have gotten their attention but they were not convinced, she then showed them a valid Canadian passport. Then they asked her for a utility bill to prove that she actually lived in our neighbourhood. Since this had happened to her in the past, she had it handy. Then they said that she was not on the voting roster for her Precinct. She could see her name as she pointed it out to the voting employee. Then that dick head called the voting supervisor to corroborate all the information and then they gave her the ballot reluctantly. You could tell they were not happy that she was able to get over every single hurdle. The next person was they helped was a North African and they were very friendly to him so you could tell that the racism is present in Alberta.
It's funny that most of the drug and alcohol people in Edmonton are white trash even though native Canadians make up a small percentage, they stereotype native Canadians as being destitute, drunks and druggies. My wife has a bachelor's degree, my wife has a big rig driver's license and she doesn't drink or smoke. She also hates drugs.

Here is some white trash in Ontario wanting to see a white doctor.

This ended up being on Canadian television network news.

You can't put me in this same category of these Karen's and Ken's that can't deal with people from other walks of life, other religions and other races.

I do recall my mother calling the principle of my elementary school when the teacher didn't care that I spoke Spanish. I remember getting taunted in elementary school all the way to the sixth grade being called Mexican in Mexican jumping bean just because I told them I spoke Spanish.
