Regulate social media? Is that not what Biden tried and then shut down?
I agree something needs to be done but I am not sure just what. Who would make the decisions necessary to regulate the media? What would be the results of such regulating? Where would the line be drawn?
Technology has far exceeded our laws and social conduct. Even here on RP we see comments made that would never be done face to face.
Interesting topic.

Let them rant, BUT, follow up on them. It doesn't do anything to stop the violence...this way we know who they are. NY has a "red flag" law and law enforcement failed to enforce it as they often do...

Government CANNOT regulate social media hate - that is in direct conflict with the 1st amendment. The supreme court has already ruled that hate speech is protected speech. Freedoms are not freedoms if you deny it to anyone, regardless of what they say, or who listens to it. Hateful rhetoric MUST be engaged with, argued against, and debated in an open forum and exchange. Shutting them down, silencing, de-platforming, and cancelling them makes them martyrs. What people are silenced today, can, and will, be turned against YOU tomm0rrow.
