APOD: 2022 May 18 - A Jewel on the Flower Moon

Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the May 18th Hump Day edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "A Jewel on the Flower Moon." Clouds were not a problem in Chilé during the May 15th lunar eclipse. A single telephoto frame captures the last moment of reflected sunlight before reaching totality. The eclipse lasted some 90 minutes.
The name "Flower Moon" comes from the Old Farmers Almanac name for the full moon in the month of May. We will see the "Strawberry Moon" next month on June 14th.

Great picture share Maj William W. 'Bill' Price , we had cloud cover and rain here in SW Michigan so we were unable to see the eclipse sir.

It was clear skies in my neck of the woods. Very cool moon. Definitely had a look of blood...
