Because of its Tourism draw I would think it would be very expensive to obtain housing in the area. My question is why did the barracks get so bad the sailors couldn't stay there while new Barracks were being built. Poor planning and execution on the part of the Navy and particularly the installation Commander.

We're staying at the Fam Camp on base at the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach, CA, and talk with some active-duty SM's that are using RV living as their choice of residence. It's my understanding that base housing is hard to get so the RV makes for a good alternative.
