My heroes of the 10th Mountain Division were among those troops fighting their way north. As a kid, growing up skiing, those guys were my legend. I had surplus ski and mountaineering gear, my parka was white camo. When back packing with the scouts, we had WWII ruck sacks, mountain tents and sleeping bags. My prize was a reversible ski parka with fur around the hood, a gift of a 10th Mt. ski trooper who worked for my Dad. Almost 60 years later, I was able to return the parka to Ed van Romer and his family.

Like brother Cowboy I remember this from school and then as now the thing I cannot wrap my head around even with the crap I have seen. How people abuse the dead bodies of people. It is something I just cannot understand even in Iraq and Afghanistan the crap they did to each other and us when they could just sicken me.
