I was pulling a hay wagon with a tractor and a truck when I couldn't touch the pedals. My grandfather put it in the lowest gear and told me to keep it straight along the hay bales and at the end of the field he would tell me to turn left or right and line up on the hay bales again so they could load them. When it came time to go to the barn he would climb back up and take over and drive back to the house. those were some good memories that have stuck with me.

Used to be common. Our money crop was peanuts and cotton. My grandpa, Mr. Virgil, had horses pull the peanut planter. Our old mule, Big Sister, pulled a bridge plank to close the furrows. I stood on the plank holding the reins. I was four. Big Sister knew what to do.
