U.S. Will Rename 660 Mountains, Rivers and More to Remove Racist Word

Biden administration Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, the first Native American to serve as cabinet secretary, has a big plan to rename 660 (so far) U.S. geographic sites, including mountains, rivers, lakes, remote islands, because of their “racist and misogynist slur” of Indian content. Haaland created a 13-member “Derogatory Geographic Names Task Force” for implementing the changes.
