Hard to believe they had soldiers digging trenches in contaminated ground. Were their Officers that ignorant? What happened to take care of your troops?

"Take care of your troops" doesn't exist in a military that has a calculated number of deaths in training set as "acceptable losses".

PO2 Marco Monsalve troops are running over commanders with their tanks. They really aren't concerned with the health and wellbeing of those on the frontlines.

Yeah, I am with you. As a commander I need to make a risk assessment for the operation. Needing some education, I would have talked with the people running that plant. They would have told me digging in that forest would be catastrophic. Therefore, I would not task out that operation. Just stupid.

The Russian tactics, the pursuit of strategic goals, leadership, decision making makes what was considered a strong military look like clowns. Their shock and awe became a circus.

Animals have moved back into the area, but only after years. I suppose the developed a sort of tolerance. And humans are much more sensitive to this.
