As Women's History month ends . . .
Don't miss the second link, a more in depth bio, and a 55 minute video of the delightful 100 year old Betty Reid Soskin speaking of WWII times and places. In the video she does the orientation for "Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park Visitor Education Center", which includes introducing a 17 minute film "Home Front Heros", about that time in that location - history that she lived. Then she speaks in context of living those years for the rest of the video. She is truly delightful, moreso because of her age which clearly does not fit her into any convenient age stereotype.<smile>

My mother was a Rosie the Riveter during WW2. She drove a forklift and operated an overhead crane for civil service in San Francisco loading naval vessels. she passed at the age of 91. I miss her still.

SGT Mary G. - Yes and I have pictures of her driving a forklift. My dad was her supervisor and thats how they met. He passed at the age of 94 back in 97.

Uh huh PO2 Marco Monsalve, she sure is. I know folks half her age who are not as comfortable in their own skin, nor as mentally sharp as she is!
