Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the March 29th Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Venus and Mars: Passing in the Night." We continue south of the equator today with this image from outside Teresópolis, Brazil. Framed by surrounding peaks we see the planets Venus and Mars in the early morning sky. Saturn joins the party between now and the end of the month. Using Venus to orient yourself, Mars will be to the lower right and Saturn will be to the lower left. The three will be closest together on March 31st.
