As a logistician and supply chain management professional, I wondered why not treat the Armed Forces Family unit as the weapons system that it is...and apply the ideas of Life-Cycle Logistics and the deployment workup cycle to their journey through military service?

Interesting idea...we did okay although we could have been better prepared...but that was 20 plus years ago now for us.

"Doing okay" is one way...but what battle do we ever want to "do okay" in? That's right, we want to dominate, and be prepared to win decisively! Thanks for the thought, Lt Col Charlie Brown

CDR (Join to see) - we got it sorted out...but my first year out was not a smooth one...fortunately we had staggered our retirement so he was still in when I got out. We both found our way to rewarding second careers (and third, for me) so, I am overall grateful.
