We know this happens under every administration. No excuses, though. Period.

MSG Stan Hutchison - If only we had a President who was actually a leader and capable of forming a consensus. It's been about 40 years.

MSG Stan Hutchison - But an adequate leader whose party has the majority in both the Senate and the House should be able to bring about legislative consensus. Too bad we don't have an adequate leader. As I recall, he touted himself as great at reaching across the aisle.

Could be that the parents were not around. Maybe they were sending her to relatives in the US. Every day, parents that are citizens of the US do much worse to their own children. I'm certainly not advocating for parents to send their young children, or any children, by themselves with smugglers. But we don't know the whole story here.

Cannot justify one inhumane act by citing another. Fact: that child was alone. No child that age should be subjected to such inhumane situations.

Not the same situation. Your use of the term illegal aliens describes the situation. People have illegally entered the US. That is a direct threat to the safety and security of America and its citizens. Not to mention it undermines the efforts of people who immigrated legally and are seeking citizenship legally. Ask yourself why do you lock your door at night? My answer is to maintain control of who enters my home while Me and my family are in a very vulnerable state of sleep. SFC (Join to see)

SFC (Join to see) - So what is your point? I'd speculate, but I see no relevant point to your comment.

Here is the whole story. We incentivize illegal immigration. The government does it by providing anything more than humanitarian aid necessary for the basic minimal humane requirements of food, water, shelter and clothing necessary to complete a deportation hearing. Civilians who aid in the illegal entry, illegal residency, shelter and employment do it. Our government and the civilians who aid illegal immigrants share a direct responsibility for enticing every person who dies, is abused or enslaved on the trip to el Norte. It is akin to putting bait in bear traps and then decrying the cruel fate of all the bears who are missing a foot.

For both sides here:

Want something done? Get Congress to pass a bipartisan immigration bill, period!
We have needed immigration reform since Reagan days. Time to act.

CWO4 Terrence Clark correction: so called dreamers, under certain circumstances, issued a PERMANENT green card. No chance for citizenship.

CWO4 Terrence Clark - OK, now let me ask you this:

You posted "so called dreamers, under certain circumstances, issued a PERMANENT green card. No chance for citizenship."

Why no chance for citizenship?
