Not the same situation. Your use of the term illegal aliens describes the situation. People have illegally entered the US. That is a direct threat to the safety and security of America and its citizens. Not to mention it undermines the efforts of people who immigrated legally and are seeking citizenship legally. Here is the whole story. We incentivize illegal immigration. The government does it by providing anything more than humanitarian aid necessary for the basic minimal humane requirements of food, water, shelter and clothing necessary to complete a deportation hearing. Civilians who aid in the illegal entry, illegal residency, shelter and employment do it. Our government and the civilians who aid illegal immigrants share a direct responsibility for enticing every person who dies, is abused or enslaved on the trip to el Norte. It is akin to putting bait in bear traps and then decrying the cruel fate of all the bears who are missing a foot.
