Families fear financial hit as VA caregiver program prepares to drop thousands of vets

There is still a "deny first, wait for appeal" mentality with a lot of VA benefits. In my opinion, they will drop as many as possible and hope the majority just suck it up and drive on, and they will only have to deal with a small handful of appeals. When it's all said and done they can tell their overseers "we saved $XXX.XX. Aren't you proud of us?"
