Good morning, Rallypoint, and welcome to the March 6th Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Venus and the Triply Ultraviolet Sun." A number of amateur astronomers watched Venus transit the Sun (e.g. a Venusian annualar eclipse) in 2012. So did the Solar Dynamics Observatory. I was working for NASA at the time, and it was a pretty big media event. Here, different solar features are enhanced by using three different wavelengths of ultraviolet light to process the image. Mouse over the actual APOD page to see where those features are labelled. Venus is slightly left of center at 11 o'clock.
