Weapons are weapons. Cyber is a weapon. Once it inflicts damage or death upon a NATO member nation Article 5 ceases to be mere words and commitment promises. The question then becomes what the response should be... Proportionate, or something more.

Things could get very tense and I would not put it past Putin to keep pushing until he gets a response that gets NATO mobilized. I'm quite sure China is keeping a close eye on this vis a vis Taiwan.

At that point Article 5 is invoked, we don't have a real choice. "an attack against one ally is considered as an attack against all members."
