Germany has taken steps to halt the process of certifying the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Tuesday, as the West started taking punitive measures against Moscow over the Ukraine crisis.
Scholz said his government made the decision in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recognition of the independence of two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine that he said marked a “serious break of international law.”

In my view this is only a temporary action by Germany until the heat is over, then the spigot of the pipeline project will proceed again in earnest... It is all a big game and not a good one for the citizens of the world...

They will cave before long. Too bad someone in this country didn't have the foresight to ramp up production in this country to put us in the position to help supply our allies. Oh, silly me, someone did, but the next guy canceled it all making us dependent on OPEC.
