I responded to this on another RP post but here it is on this one MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. : No doubt that China currently sees not a USA but a red US and Blue US weakened by internal disarray and disunity thereby making for a potentially easier target. Would not be at all surprised to see them making even more aggressive moves in the Pacific culminating in an assault on Taiwan. We may have spent much too much time and energy on the Middle East and taken our eye off the much larger strategic danger posed by China.

I would say it's more that they see a ultra weak leadership from "Slo Joe" vs. our division, we could unite easily, but if he is still POTUS our unity would make no difference.

Both, imo. Encouraging and celebrating the divide and conquer internal turmoil is always a given that is recognized as the weakness it is. The luck of the draw due to presidential elections is a variable. The game is to find a way to exploit the "type" of person serving which will zero in to exploit anything that can be emphasized in negative ways, caricatured, or manufactured.
Imo, we don't have to worry about exploitation of people from outside creating turmoil and doing the rabble rousing in our nation, as long as the R and D parties are doing the deed to one another. That is always the "Cold War" aim anyway. Do what needs to be done to get the people within the nation to do the damage.

If you knew the Chinese culture, you would know that drama per the Greek culture are equal. Secondly, the current regime fears opposition. It is like corporate America, profit by any means; China prefers to suppress the populace by any means. I am not “woke” whatever that means.

We contributed to the increased strength of China under the misguided idea that they would turn from their Communist roots through economic cooperation

SP5 Dennis Loberger Truly. And totally misguided. Did anyone actually believe that could happen and have that as an aim - especially given the Belt and Road initiative that has been going on openly for at least a decade, with ground work being laid far longer.
China's policies are big picture policies and well-organized at all scales in advance - gotta give em that! The structure of dictatorship insures that.
As usual it is the same ol' same ol' ideological battle between personal liberty which is like herding cats, and organized dictatorship that increasingly lowers the boom until it reaches dictatorial proportions.
