I disagree. Maybe at one time affirmative action was needed but it is not needed now. While I was a grunt in Vietnam I saw where an E5 sargent stripe was awarded to a less deserving minority rather than a more deserving non minority. Not me, I was in for only 2 years and care about making rank. If I wanted to stay in the army, this would have affected my decision. We are all equal. especially in the military. Nobody needs a special leg up.
