Car-flip accused farmer tells jury ‘an Englishman’s home is his castle’

I sympathize with the farmer, but call the police! You assaulted the trespasser, with your forklift! At least that's assault with a deadly weapon. He'll be lucky if he doesn't go to prison. After all "Mr Hooper then returned to his farmyard and put the lifting forks on his vehicle before driving it down the lane to the two men." That proves intent.

I don't know enough about English common law to know where this one is going. It's one of those things that seems pretty bad ass but in the back of my mind I'm thinking he should have called a tow truck or the police.

Maybe the police would show up and maybe not...
