Good Monday morning my Brothers and Sisters from a Sunny start to the week ahead!
It was a brisk 41° with a strong breeze, when I hopped out of the bed this morning, which made it feel much colder! The humidity was 93% at the time and that temperature feels much different than a 30° temperature with 20% humidity and just a slight breeze up in the greater Boston area!
And what a day it is for the James Webb Space Telescope! It has clocked in at a measly 1690 miles to go to reach the L2 Lagrange Point and is now some 905,834 miles from Earth and counting...
Notes: A series of activities to plan and execute MCC2 - the insertion burn for the JWST's L2 Orbit... MCC2 corrects any residual trajectory errors and adjusts the final L2 Orbit... As an added note, There are three mid-course correction (MCC) maneuvers: MCC-1a, MCC-1b. MCC-2. It is this last and final burn, which inserts the JWST into its L2 "halo" orbit. This burn is expected to occur at 2PM Eastern / 7PM UTC...
Further, there are some outstanding video segments in the Lower Right corner of the live broadcast and I highly recommend watching the sequence, but make sure you watch FULL SCREEN ON THE LARGEST SCREEN YOU HAVE AVAILABILE... You won't see the detail on a small screen...and it is magnificent!!!

Great update, those burns can be worrisome so keeping my fingers crossed. We slept in today so 47 with no breeze when we got up.

It's amazing Jack... the planning, the building, the launch, the en route, the fine corrections and the prep for orbit entry. What we may learn is mind-boggling.
