Politicians, while charting his or her vote banks, targets religious demographics, such as Islamic, Jewish, Sikhism, Hinduism, Peganism, Christianity, etc. The larger the voter population, the more politicians will do for them. Since Imams are Islamic religious leaders, giving them a political role will attract the Islamic community to vote for such political parties. Women are another political vote bank, because equity is of paramount importance. There are other ways to slice this cat. However, chosing a controversial religious leader to join a political transition team or campaign must be avoided. This is because Jihad means struggle or fight against infidels (nonbelievers of Islam); jihadists believe that Americans are largely infidels and their punishment is death, which is why they follow Jihadism.
