ESPN story about Disco Demolition - July 12, 1979

Were any of you at this doubleheader in Chicago on July 12th, 1979?

Local radio stations DJ Steve Dahl invited his viewers to come to the White Sox baseball team home field. You can see a doubleheader game for $1 as long as you brought a disco record to blow up.

During the halftime show, he blew up 20,000 disco records and a riot happened afterward. The second game was canceled.
When I was in high school, I liked some disco but not all of it. I remember teenagers from high school were sent home with a shirt that said 'disco sucks and Punk swallows.'

I have since learned to like techno and I'm really Amazed by Donna Summers original I feel love which is a early techno song ahead of its time. I have learned to like the fusion of disco and hard rock with groups like Duran Duran and others that mix the dance beats in NuWave and even guys like Prince was able to fuse the genres.

This DJ came out with a record called do you think I'm Disco. I'm going to put the parity in the comments. I used to play this on my record player when I was a senior in high school. It was back when they had 45 RPM singles.
