Its better to have and not need then to need and not have. These folks had a need and protected themselves.

Article has valid points, but also needs context for consideration. Almost all of the cited incidents were gun owners using their weapons at their homes or businesses. It does not cite any incidents in a public place (i.e. good guy with a gun stopping a mass shooting, etc.)
