Makes sense. Mother Teresa and her "charity" are a cult whose sole mission is to convert people. They do little to help people, and instead glorified suffering.

SFC Casey O'Mally - false. Mother Teresa was a horrible person who inflicted untold suffering amongst her "flock".

"Mother Teresa was very consistent in her view of the Catholic religion. Everything was done as if her primary mission was to allow the sick and suffering to resemble Christ and to quickly reach the hereafter. So the medical care, or should I say the lack of medical care, that she provided were based on the cult of suffering. She likened the suffering of the poor to divine grace, so it was normal in her mind that her hospice was nothing like a hospital. It was for her to welcome the dying and accompany them in their death.… However, she could have given them proper care. She had millions of dollars in various banks. Instead, it was used to build houses for her community and to send money to the Vatican."

SFC Casey O'Mally - A 40% mortality rate in her Calcutta mission? Would we stand by and let a hospital or convalescent home have a 40% mortality rate in the US?

1) Last I checked, Kolkata was not in the US. So using US standards of evaluation would be improper.

2) Citation please?

3) What are the circumstances leading to this purported 40% mortality rate? Because that matters. If you were to offer me a mission with a 40% mortality rate that took in stage 4 lymphatic cancer patients with no previous treatment - and malnutrition - due to indigency, I would jump on it. Even in America.

Not saying this was the case, but I am not the one making the claim here - provide the documentation of this 40% rate and we shall examine it.

Medicines that had expired were still used. Syringes cleaned using just water then reused. Untrained staff. But as long as they were catholic when they died, it didn't matter that they were suffering. Any healthcare facility that has a 40% mortality rate for patients with treatable diseases should be stomped out of existence. Doesn't matter if it is in Calcutta or Chicago.
