A 78-year-old Pennsylvania man who stole a rare Revolutionary-era rifle from a museum in 1971 was sentenced Tuesday to one day in prison and a year of home confinement, prosecutors said.

While it seems like a light sentence, it was a nonviolent crime and he is 78 years old...

Even with the fines he got off easy especially since he admitted to other thefts from other museums.

It does seem like an extremely light sentence considering he sold stolen property. I could understand the sentence if he had turned it in.
