LTC David Brown Interesting word "disinformation". Anyone recall when it entered our daily lexicon? What is it? Who defines it? How is it different from a difference of opinion? Is it even a "thing"? Why would any sentient being allow a questionable quasi-government group infringe on their 1st Amendment rights? PFC David Foster SFC (Join to see) MSG Joseph Cristofaro

That is for a judge to decide. There is a difference between "fighting disinformation" and banning disinformation". Facebook, the owner of a private company banned them, all Soro's group did seek out foreign groups that were working on false smear campaigns to correct them and teach others how to spot them to strengthen the integrity of our elections. Facebook are the ones doing the banning, but they are a private company and have the right to refuse service to some people; ie... "Under American law, a business owner has the right to refuse service to some customers. But federal and a lot of state laws say you can't discriminate against customers based on factors such as race, religion, sex or national origin." Facebook is banning people for lying and using false information to smear, and in Trumps case, he even took it a step further lying and smearing to incite violence.

If for a judge to decide, what jurisdiction did Soros and Facebook enjoin? If for a judge to decide, what judge has found that President Trump lied, smeared and/or incited violence? If for a judge to decide, what judge has the authority and power to set aside 1st Amendment rights?

I've seen a lot of false information on Facebook, especially when Obama was President, I'm happy to see some of it stop. People should be ashamed of themselves. I don't even think the old pictures of Melania should be allowed and they were true, but it makes our country look bad, so I'm glad they blocked them, and articles about Michelle being descended from apes, seriously??? So, you guys go right on calling it "setting aside 1st amendment rights" or whatever you want", if you don't like it, you don't have to keep using Facebook, that's the beauty of it.

What is wrong with trying to shut down false information and teaching people how to recognize it? I don't see anything unethical about it, on the contrary, it sounds like a noble cause.

LTC David Brown - That wasn't what they were paid for, it may have been what they did, I personally would like to see what they did before making a judgment.

PFC David Foster - they paid Fusion GPS about $500k and Steele $500k to produce fake information that lead to a special council investigation.

LTC David Brown - I keep hearing conflicting information, just like everything else on the internet. It seems like the left is saying they were paid to find fake information and the right is saying they were paid to produce fake information. So, I would like to see what they did... Were they charged with a crime? Is it even a crime to put false information on Facebook, apparently not, or half America would be breaking the law every day? I personally don't have enough of the real and true facts to make a decision on what I think. I'm working on not jumping to conclusions. The line between free speech and business ownership seems to be a slippery slope.
