Thank you @Rick Whitmire for an excellent post.

Too many forget that for 11 years, 3 months and 16 days our government was run under the Articles of Confederation. The federal government required the unanimous vote of all 13 states to modify any of the 12 Articles contained within.

As the Constitutional Convention did its work to replace the Articles of Confederation they became deadlocked on the inclusion of rights that would later become The Bill of Rights we know as the 1st ten amendments to the Constitution. Without them, the Constitution would have never survived the convention in Philadelphia. To break that deadlock and allow the Constitution to be sent to the states for ratification a commitment was made to resolve the Bill of Rights during the 1st congress to convene after implementation.

The key point is these 1st ten Amendments are interracial to the Constitution itself. They are not an afterthought to be toyed with. Without them, we don't have a Constitution.

Rights belong to the people and cannot be taken away by the government. Certain enumerated powers were granted to the federal government. All others are retained by the people and/or states.

Excellent constitutional explanation of the bill of rights. Wondering if this information is even being taught to kids today in their social studies class as most have renamed civics of government classes to social studies. Even trimming it down to half a semester.

The got their wish when the parade crasher was released on $1000 bail after attempting to drive over the mother of his child. Poor criminal, awww let him go again, after all he was just expressing himself.
