Everyone is giving lip-service to these matters. Nobody is willing to stand up and denounce past actions or acknowledge the ongoing racism in white society.

Although the APA’s apology falls short in it’s efforts, it actually acknowledged their racism PO1 William "Chip" Nagel!
There was also a time in American history when people with physical and psychological conditions were placed in mental hospitals. Alcoholics were also housed in psychiatric hospitals. My paternal grandfather was ‘committed’ to a state run mental hospital in the late 1930’s and he died there...
