You are correct and a tiny 1/4 " nut flying at 25,000 mph can cause major damage to a space craft, satellite or the space station.

I found out yesterday America has as many satellites as then next top 10 countries put together, so it's right in line with the military.... and there are 22,000 pieces of space junk we have to look out for... NASA has their hands full.
