What exactly do you "think" Critical Race Theory" is? It's nothing to be afraid of. It's basically the study of why so many more black men are targeted by the police and what should be done about it to make blacks fit in our society the same way whites do. That's all it is.

Here is the definition - Critical race theory
Critical race theory is a framework of analysis and an academic movement of civil-rights scholars and activists who seek to examine the intersection of race and law in the United States and to challenge mainstream American liberal approaches to racial justice. CRT examines social, cultural, and legal issues primarily as they relate to race and racism in the United States. A tenet of CRT is that racism and disparate racial outcomes are the result of complex, changing, and often subtle social and institutional dynamics, rather than explicit and intentional prejudices of individuals.
Like everything else in life, people misuse it and perhaps do things that are wrong and blame it on something that is not really the blame. Even Tucker Carlson admitted to now knowing what it is. The real fight is about what to teach the children... should it be a straight forward curriculum, or should the teacher have some leverage to teach the curriculum and try to instill some incentive for the children to think for themselves.

Critical Race Theory is nothing more than the latest dog-whistle from the right, intended to encourage the hard corps right to resist anything the left proposes.
It is just another catch phrase to rally the right.

I think the ones trying to gaslight are the ones on the far right. CRT is not "too toxic" to defend. First off it's a college level legal course.
Secondly, it's not taught in K-12 and never has been. So this weird fear mongering by the right is just that - fear mongering. Probably because some of you don't want your kids or grandkids to know you or your parents are the ones in pictures protesting de-segregation or harassing POC during civil rights protests, etc.
Now what may be taught in K-12 is culturally responsive teaching - which is not critical race theory. This has been explained on this forum.

It is also being used to describe the discussion of racism in classroom instruction."

It seeks to make school learning relevant and effective for learners by drawing on students’ cultural knowledge, life experiences, and frames of reference. An example of culturally responsive teaching would be when a math teacher writes word problems that link to student interests, such as by measuring the distance of a shot made by a famous soccer player."

My kids, both in high school, have both stated to me on numerous occasions that CRT is not being taught in their schools. Never has been.
