I never really liked the term "hoplophobia", when used to describe an irrational fear of guns. "Hoplites" were not "guns", nor any sort of weapon, but armed men, troops in the Greek fighting force.
"Hoplophobe" would serve to accurately describe someone with an irrational fear of an armed person, but not a fear of the gun he was armed with.
I have no substitute to offer, other than the clumsy "gunophobia", lacking the historic context and dignity of "hoplophobia".

I have a 9mm, m-4, 50 cal, and 120 mm. I don't trust myself with guns because I am absent minded.

Don't use the Mental Health tag for these types of posts. We have a lot of useful resources in that tag area for members who have legitimate mental health concerns. We don't want them to have to sift through everyone's political posts to find the resources they need.

LTC Kevin B. - That's a real stretch when the subjects are being used to describe symptoms and triggers. In the same way going to a circus would be talked about for someone with a fear of clowns.
