COL (Join to see) is this decline in surgical skills negatively impacting Military readiness? Most surgeons are stationed at medical facilities and ‘should’ have the opportunity to maintain their skill set. If these surgeons aren’t being utilized, is this becoming an obsolete MOS? I realize the Military changes and some MOS are being phased out and contracted to government contractors. Is this what is possibly happening in the surgical field?

Yes it is negatIvely impacting as there is no greater need during true combat. It is the core of the essential MOSs
