A program delivered by SoldierStrong, the nonprofit which I co-founded and currently serve as chairman of, deploys virtual reality technology - known as BraveMind - to VA hospitals across the country to treat veterans living with post-traumatic stress and in turn, work to lessen the rate of suicide within the population. Because of my personal investment in the mental health of veterans, I am heartened that the White House is looking to make the same important investment with the recent roll out of their strategy to reduce military and veteran suicide. I pray that everyday citizens, nonprofits; local, state and national government, and public-private partnerships continue to work together to offer support and solutions that make a positive impact.

Time will tell, but at first blush seems like another back end loaded government feel good effort. Plenty of opportunity for "non-profit" grant money waste, dealing with aftercare programs, little to dealing with root causes. Already the first wave of ads are out in media regarding gun locks. As this moves forward need to keep a close eye on 2nd infringements.
